hypercreative profile | mindcastle / meet danielle + casey

The hypercreative process is one that is very clean, straight forward and just amazing to watch when it's working. The three components of the hypercreative method are HEART | State of mind, CONCEPT | the creative stage and TECHNICAL | the creation stage. As I have explained before, when these three work together you are in hyperflow. A state where you entire being is immersed in hypercreativity. Now to visualize this concept I've been working on a collection of videos in conjuction with photoshopcafe.com.

The Hypercreative Method is really not a huge secret. The Hypercreative Method was developed to crerate a frame work of how the best creatives in the world work. Most creatives have different rituals they like to perform before they start. Some like to take a ton of breaks, some drink a shit load of coffee, and others just lock themself up in a room for days. What ever their gig the underlying process and framework of the most successful and efficient creatives seems to follow what I call the Hypercreative Metod.

Now I have seen this with my own two eyes be performed beautifully many many times. I have tried to come as close to it as I can myself. But never before have I seen it captured on film as beautifully and perfectly as this video here.

First and foremost Casey and Danielle are two of the most talented people I've seen on the web in a long while. Their work spans from amazing photography to the most gorgous spacial cinematic films. I don't know them personally, but they are the true definition of hypercreatives.

I love the images they capture, and the films are atmospheric and heart warming. And it's not enough that they can create magic with the camera, the have to be great with illustration and design too.. Who are these people..haha..my god.

Back to this video - Please watch it closely as I see them demonstrating the hypercreative method™ flawlessly.

First _ HEART - It's obvious that they are clear in their state of mind and intention. The projects intentions are to create a wonderful holiday card. We can't really know what's going on psycologically here, but I'm guessing that everyone involved is in the moment. They are connected.

Second _ CONCEPT - Well, you all know how I feel about sketching your concepts out before you go to the computer. Watch this part closely. There is no questioning their direction. There is no judgment. It's just pure creation. Now I don't know for sure how much of this was cut and shortened, but I have the feeling that all actions were clear cut and there wasn't too much hemming and hawing on the direction of the card. I love the fact that he/she sketched out the entire package, designed it by hand, took the pictures then made a mock up.. jeesus..ok..moving on.

I also love the conceptual section of this video, because not even I go this far. And by this far, I mean they know exactly what's going to be going to the technical stage. Not to say that there isn't some awesome surprises at the end.. but man talk about a clear vision.

Third _ TECHNICAL - The fluency of Casy or Danielle in illustrator is key to bring it all together. Watch for the quick decisions, the clear and consise way the reindeer was illustrated and brought in. It's like watching a symphony. Ok i'm done rambling. Watch this video over and over again to really understand what I'm talking about here. Basically I have dedicated an entire site to what is being demonstrated here in a little over 3 minutes.

Danielle + Casey, I'm sure you know this by now - but you guys are amazing, and so is mindcastle!

Andrew Bell | Hypercreative Profile interview by Ali Sabet

Andrew Bell is brilliant. Andrew started drawing little creatures 6 years ago. One a day, everyday. It was a way for him to express himself while working as a creative at Nick. If you guys ever question what it takes to make it as an artist, you look at Andrew. There is a certain level of dedication that's needed to get to where Bell has reached. Imagine drawing, posting, creating all sorts of prints and toys then having to make that stuff - I mean the list goes on and on. Andrew does all this and more, and yet he makes it look so easy.

Andrew has done what most of us dream of doing; which is to create a day to day experience that we enjoy. The fact that he brings so much joy to others with his creatures is an absolute bonus. I have been following andrews progress since 2005 when I started mojizu.com. I remember asking him to join the community and that's how we connected initally. I'm really excited that I got to meet him last year and It was a pleasure to interview him this year at Comic Con 2011. He is truly and inspiration to all artists. You may see more of his work on The Creatures In My Head website! Enjoy!!
